Sunday 29 September 2013

Its been a homework day filled with painting, cutting, gluing, cutting, gluing, and even more cutting and gluing, followed by a little more cutting and gluing. But I'm done, they look great, and that's all that matters.

The first project is for 3D and our assignment was to take a piece of fruit and choose a way to present it (show off, cradle, enlighten, etc). I chose protect and I think its protected pretty well.

If I were an orange and wanted to be protected, that's where I'd be.

For Color Theory we were to do self portraits of how we feel or act in different situations using 2 different color theories.

The very lovely cover.

Isn't it amazing how the grey robot on the orange side is darker than the one on the purple?

WHAT?!?! IT'S THE SAME GREY! Witchcraft.

This one is how I feel about homemade waffles vs. Eggo waffles. See how fun the homemade one is?

Pull the flap down and you find...

...depressing, frozen, nastiness.

And I'll end with some drawings from extra life I did this week.
2, 5, and 10 minute poses.

Painting, life drawing, and the zoo

The first one I did last week and was my first attempt of painting a still life. The second one was done this week in class. Still have a lot to learn about painting but I've come a long way in a week!

Extra life drawing. YAY!
All of them are 10 minute poses except for the last one which is 30.

Yesterday went to the Zoo! Sadly it was raining the entire time (and when I mean the entire time I mean every single second we were there) so I wasn't able to lots of my favorite animals that are outside but I did get to some interesting ones indoors.

The sleepy gorillas were all very sleepy :]

3D design homework. Very tricky but fun.

Third week at Sheridan

Since I've been in school for a few weeks I decided to show some of my work.

This is the first homework assignment for my painting class. I don't typically paint much but am pretty excited about how it turned out.
Doesn't Teddy ShaniePants make a good model? Really looking froward to painting with color.

And here's some studies from extra life drawing. The first one is a 15 minute pose and the others are 1-2 minute gestures.

During the first week of my figure drawing class we focused on self portrait blind contour drawings. They are all oh so very interesting. The first one is one of my many attempts and the other is a sketchbook selfie done in ink and watercolor.
